Packages & Rates (3 types) Redwood Sportfishing Charters offers specific to the specie you are looking to fish.
The packages include the following :
1) Atlantic Salmon Package includes Rainbow/ Steelhead Trout on the St Mary’s River (end of June to mid August)
2) Brook (Speckled) Trout Package (May 22nd-June 9th & September 22nd-30th)
3) Pacific (King, Pink & Coho) Salmon/Steelhead Package (August – October 31st) on the St. Mary’s River
Also we now offer – Superior Salmon – Fishing for Spring Kings and Coho Salmon (June) & Fall Coho and Steelhead/ Jumbo Perch

Redwood Sportfishing Charters offers Atlantic Salmon ( Salmo salar) fishing trips on the St. Mary’s River, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Canada. There is a variety of ways to catch these fish and we use every tactic available by boat to target these wild acrobatic leaper (salar) Atlantic Salmon (Salmo)! There are 2 methods you can choose to catch our Atlantic Salmon, #1) Trolling baits with levelwind reel setups along with casting baits using spincast reels and rods. #2) Flyfishing & Harling which is a method trolling with fly rods and casting flies to entice a bite. These fierce fish can definitely put our gear and the angler to the test but we will do what it takes to get them to the net. These fish can outsmart the best anglers so if your in for a challenge then this type of trip is for you! We do encourage catch and release but the limit is currently 1 per angler on the St. Mary’s River.

Pacific Salmon Fishing Package (August- October)
A fun day fishing aboard the Redwood Sportfishing Charterboat! (Pacific Salmon Package)
Pacific Salmon package covers Chinook, Pink, and Coho Salmon on the St. Mary’s River, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada.
The Chinook/King Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) are the first to arrive usually beginning of August and are the biggest and most powerful of the Salmon with an average of 12 lbs with 20lb plus being common, then the overlap of Pink/humpback Salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) which is the smallest species of salmon that averages 1.5-2 lbs, they usually arrive around end of August/beginning of September. The Coho/Silver Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) are the last of the Pacific Salmon to show which is around middle to the end of September. Our Salmon season can go into October and does get a mix of Steelhead as well!!
Our New Lake Superior Salmon Fishing Trips focus on catching Spring King Salmon (June) and Fall Coho and King Salmon (3rd week of September to 3rd week of October). These trips can be a mixed bag of either along with some Steelhead and possibility of Coaster Brook Trout and Brown Trout. We mainly use trolling for the methods of catching these fish and all the trips are of course weather dependent.
We also offer small river Pink Salmon Fly fishing trips (5 per season) , some gear can be supplied and if you have never fly fished before we can teach you some simple techniques to catch these fish! These trips are offered the last 2 weeks of September depending on rainfall which draws the Salmon up the rivers. The cost is $400 for up to 3 people for a half day. Equipment would be an additional fee.

Brook/ Speckled Trout Fishing (May 22nd - June 9th & September 22-30th ) BOOK NOW!! Only 12 trips will be available for 2026
Brook – Speckled Trout/Specks/Brookies/Squaretail (Salvelinus fontinalis) are the most colorful of any freshwater fish. These Native/ Natural Lake Spawning Brook Trout are exceptional powerful fighters especially on a 4-6 weight fly rod or light action spinning combo spooled with 4-6 lb test. The peaceful tranquility of this inland lake adventure adds so much value let alone the excitement of hooking into Northern Ontario’s most beautiful fish the legendary Brook Trout. The beauty of pure quiet, loons singing, moose slowly walking the shoreline is what is all possible while out in the boat quietly trolling or flycasting the shoreline in search of a beautiful Brook Trout. If you have never fished for these amazing fish I highly recommend adding this to your bucket list! All spincast outfits can be supplied at no extra cost. For experienced fishers we can supply flyrod combos and some of the flies/streamers the fish will be feeding on. The average Brook Trout in the lake is 12-14 inches with trophy fish in 20 inch plus range possible.
